Who we are

The Foundation was established in Turin in July, 1980, with the following aims:

• To develop cultural activities aimed to support and spread research, knowledge and information on male and female homosexuality in different fields: social, scientific, humanistic, literary, artistic, etc.
• To preserve, enrich and grant access to the Foundation's property (the library and the archives - videos, magazines and documents) that during the past years have been created by the FUORI! (the first Italian gay organisation) and some other gay people in Turin.

This is why the Foundation is the natural heir of the activities and the spirit that gave life to the first Italian gay movement, that was set up in 1971 and has developed wince then in Turin.

That's because we're aware that we prejudice and intolerance can be beaten in the first place
with culture and information
