Dear friends,
On Saturday afternoon ethnic Albanian terrorists attacked a team
investigating Friday's terrorist attack on Yugoslav army troops in the
village of Gornja Vaganica in the Yugoslav republic Serbia's Kosovo-Metohija
province.
While the investigation was in progress, the terrorists opened small arms
fire from 300 m away from the site at around 3:30 p.m. local time Saturday.
The attack, lasting 10-15 minutes, was launched after verifiers of the
Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), who were sent
by their regional centre in Kosovska Mitrovica to conduct the investigation
along with the investigating team and the police, had left the scene.
The police returned fire and what was left of the ethnic Albanian terrorist
gang fled toward Mt. Cicevica.
There were no casualties among the policemen or the investigating team.
After the inquiry, Judge Ristic told reporters that around 6 p.m. Friday four members of the terrorist organisation calling itself the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) had opened mortar near Vaganica. There were no casualties among the Yugoslav soldiers. The soldiers responded to the attack killing two KLA members in the Gornja Vaganica area. The killed terrorists were found in possession of two automatic rifles, belts with several 10-bullet magazines, hand grenades of Chinese make, other ammunition and a hunting knife. One of the attackers was wearing combat fatigues and a bullet-proof vest, while the others were in civilian clothes.
Sincerely Yours,
